Hello there stranger…..

Well I seem to have been Missing In Action for quite some time, my apologies.

Life seems to have got in the way of my blogging, that’s not to say that I haven’t been cooking, photographing and eating well during the prolonged absence [my waistline can attest to this!]…… Put simply, my computer completely died. It had to be completely rebuilt into another machine, a huge drama as I thought that I had lost all my years of photographs, documents and music. The hard drive was cactus as well, so after much deliberation and wrangling I seem to have everything on a new laptop and another backup in place..fingers crossed it will never, ever, ever happen again.

I have soooooo much to catch-up on that I’m not sure where to begin, will be easing my way back in and am certain that I will now keep a more regular presence @ Bland Resistance, I promise!

My name is Eve and I am fairly obsessive [in a good way!] about all the things food….

I love reading recipes, discovering new ingredients, planning meals, cooking, creating and food styling….. I’m hoping that starting this blog will enable me a creative outlet to document my culinary journey and share the delicious outcomes with you.

I love to read …

I love to read about food, baking and all things kitchen related. From cookbooks and magazines to newspapers and the internet, I read it all. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not a full blown foodie or culinary expert, I don’t eat out at fancy restaurants each and every week.

Embarrassingly, I subscribe to  DeliciousGourmet Traveller and Donna Hay. Usually I don’t even a make all that much from these magazines….. I just enjoy looking at the food styling and photography and keeping up-to-date with the latest food trends.

I like cookbooks [ understatement+ ]…and have been gifted so many tomes over the years, my shelves are teaming with a myriad of varied cuisines!

I happily spend hours reading foodie publications and books & dreaming of what to cook. I also seem to drive all over Sydney to locate particular ingredients or better still buy direct from the producer at the farmgate or Farmer’s Markets.

So many ingredients and so much inspiration…were to begin?

I never thought…

I never thought I would be writing and sharing my thoughts and ideas about cooking in my very own blog, but today here I am.

I have been an avid follower of so,o,o,o,o,o many styling and food blogs over the years and have always wanted to start my own… is the day!

This blog is simply a place where I can put my thoughts to paper (well, web-page actually). I’m not a literary marvel, nor am I an outstanding photographer. I’m just an average, everyday kind of girl who simply loves to cook ….and share the outcome with friends, family and colleagues 🙂
