From where do you obtain the recipes you prepare?
I take them pretty much from everywhere……..from magazines, searching the internet, sometimes from watching television shows like Masterchef, The Cook & the Chef, Mauve O’Meara on Food Safari and Heston & occasionally from my collection of cookbooks.
How often would you try a new recipe?
I like to aim for at least two new creations per month…I am always looking for something new & tasty to create, or a better way to make meals. I also like to discover new ingredients that I haven’t used before, then try and use it is as many different methods as possible
Where do you store your favourite recipes?
Most of the key recipes are mainly in my cookbooks, which take up a large portion my bookshelf…..and I have quite a few cookbooks in storage too! I also have a massive collection of snippets from various newspapers, magazines and internet recipes that I have sorted into folders.
What is the current recipe in your “to try” pile?
My to-do cooking is generally only limited by lack of time or perhaps the specialised ingredients…. a new recipe that I am hoping to trial soon is salted peanut caramel, I love the flavour combination from the few times that I have bought the product in the local Asian supermarkets.
Do you follow a recipe exactly or modify as you go?
I truly wish that I could/would stick wholeheartedly to a recipe, but generally I tend to add my own interpretation. When baking I try my utmost to weigh and measure as I know it will give a better end result…generally 😉
What is one new recipe that you’re scared to try?
Willing to try anything once…..just need the time to create and also necessary recipients to eat the results!
